Brian D. Basinger was born and raised in Shreveport. He attended Caddo Magnet High School and received his Bachelors degree from Louisiana Tech University. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1996. Dr. Basinger graduated with honors and was given the Excellence in General Dentistry Award by the Dental School. Following graduation, he was an associate in two general dentistry offices prior to opening his own private practice in December of 1997.
Dr. Basinger is active in numerous dental organizations, which allows him to continually become aware of advances in the art and science of dentistry. He is a member of The American Dental Association, The Louisiana Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, River Cities Study Club, a graduate of the Schuster Center for Professional Development and is currently president of The Northwest Louisiana Dental Association. In addition, he strives to raise community awareness and improve dental education, especially for children, through volunteer work. He has served as the chairman for "Give Kids a Smile Day" since 2004, where he organized over 25 local dentists to provide free services for children in need. He and his staff also regularly volunteer their time and talents at The Children's Dental Clinic, a local charitable dental clinic. In 2005, Dr. Basinger was selected by his peers for SB Magazine's Shreveport / Bossier City's top doctors/dentists issue. Most recently, he was honored by the Louisiana Dental Association with the 2006 New Dentist Award.
Brian and his wife, Heather, have three young sons, Caleb, Carson and Cameron. (And we can't forget an 13 year old Lhasa Apso, Presley.) Brian is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys playing golf when he's not in the office. He loves attending college and professional sporting events with his family, coaching his son's T-ball teams and just playing catch or chipping a golf ball in the yard with his boys. As a family, the Basingers are actively involved in their church, love to travel and experience new places and enjoy spending time together: exploring the outdoors, playing board games, watching movies or hunting for pirate treasure (one of the boys favorites). It's a full and fun life!
